Recycled water – Chisholm

Recycled water is now being provided to customers in Chisholm
Work was completed on Wednesday 20 November 2019 and recycled water is now being provided to customers.
Always use the water supplied through your recycled water (purple) taps for recycled water purposes only:
- Toilet flushing
- Washing cars, paths and external walls
- Watering lawns and gardens, including fruit trees and vegetable gardens
- Washing laundry in a washing machine
Recycled water reminders:
- Your recycled water meets the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling. It’s treated to a very high standard and is disinfected. However, recycled water is not suitable for drinking, cooking, using in the kitchen, in the bathroom for bathing, showering, bidets, filling pools and spas, for children’s outdoor water play equipment.
- Only use a licensed plumber. This is to ensure that no ‘cross connections’ between the drinking water and recycled water plumber are accidentally made on your property.
- Check your recycled water plumbing has the correct fittings, labelling, is colour-coded (purple), and tap handles are removed when the taps are not in use. This will help ensure recycled water is used appropriately at your home.
*Residents of Thornton North: if you have a purple water meter we will contact you over coming months. Your suburb will continue to receive drinking water through your recycled water system until further notice.
If you're a resident of Chisholm or Thornton North and your home will soon be supplied with recycled water, or if you're not sure if you'll be supplied with recycled water, ask your questions here. We are happy to assist you.
