The NSW Government and Hunter Water are delivering a $30 million project to provide sewer services to properties in the Wyee township.

When completed, sewer connections will be provided to 400 existing homes and businesses with the capacity to cater for developments in future residential subdivisions and surrounding areas. View the project map to see which properties are included in the scheme.

The sewer scheme will replace existing on-property septic systems, and aims to reduce environmental and public health concerns and improve service reliability. View the Concept Designs for the reticulated mains, pump stations and manholes in our document library.

Construction is expected to start in mid-2019 with the system ready for connection to residential homes by the end of 2020.

We have recently invited tenders for the detailed design and construction of the new sewer system. We expect to award the tender by the end of November, with the main works to get underway in stages from mid-2019.

Early works will start October 2018 to lay pipework along the road between Morisset Station and Macquarie Street, in conjunction with Council road upgrades. This means less disturbance to adjacent properties and newly built infrastructure.
