Charlestown Reservoir Mural
One of Hunter Water’s most visible assets has recently received a facelift, thanks to a community partnership. In August, the Minister for Energy and Utilities Don Harwin unveiled the new Love Water mural on Charlestown reservoir. The project was carried out in partnership with Newcastle organisation UP&UP, which specialises in engaging youth and teenagers in community projects. Featuring a vibrant design, the mural is an important reminder to thousands of motorists traveling along the Pacific Highway each day, that water is a precious resource and needs to be used wisely.
Water is precious
Water is life, without it we can't survive. Lots of people only think of the here and now when it comes to our most precious natural resource. But in the next 10, 20, or 50 years, will there be enough water to share with the growing number of people living and working in our region?
You know we all need to protect our environment. You know we all need to find solutions to the complex problems we're going to face. Here at Hunter Water, we're committed to involving young people in our planning processes, because our decisions become your heritage.
